| Sandy is a native Texan who lives and works in the Dallas area. She and her husband, Ken, a potter, maintain a studio at their home. Sandy has been interested in art as long as she can remember. She dabbled in oil painting as a hobby for many years without instruction. Several years ago she took watercolor lessons from a well-known local artist and was hooked. During the next few years she attended workshops with many nationally-known watercolorists, attended the local community colleges, and honed her skills. She has participated in local, regional and national shows and has won many awards. Recently Sandy began studying with a widely recognized oil painting instructor and is now renewing her love of oils. Her paintings, both oil and watercolor, are in homes and businesses across the country. Sandy and her husband travel extensively collecting resource materials for their art and participating in national and international workshops and retreats. Sandy is an Associate Member of Women Artists of the West, a member of Southwestern Watercolor Society, Rockport Center for the Arts, and several others. She is represented by Mountain Treasures Gallery in Red River, New Mexico. |
